Simcenter Amesim allows you to model the physics of complex systems vehicle (TRANSMISSION, HVAC, BRAKE, SUSPENSION, ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, HYDRAULIC SYSTEM ...) and its control, to simulate the dynamic performances.
Using Simcenter Amesim means:

Dedicated models for the study of gears, loads borne by the transmission or by bearings, simulate inertia, stiffness and damping of components inserted in the line and studying efficiencies, losses and global behaviour of transmission or specific segments, from low to high frequencies (<40 Hz).

Simcenter Amesim allows you to simulate in the same environment also hydraulic systems (power, actuation, lubrication…) or electrical powertrain connected, and relative control to verify response times and correct integration.

The user can perform linear analysis in order to verify the frequencies of the considered system, and avoid NVH problems (booming, gear clonk, rattle and whining).



A large collection of geometric models (valves, pipes …) to simulate the component detail, and functional (heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, compressors, valves, piping, short tube…) to do analysis of hvac systems.

Simcenter Amesim allows to simulate the trend over time of temperatures, pressures, mass fraction gas, relative humidity, phase changes, in each model point, by testing different plant and product layouts and different usage scenarios (even critical conditions) until the design with the optimal response is found.



Physical and predictive models of engine combustion and dynamics of operation analysis: air-side evaluations for suction and exhaust, turbogroup, EGR and intercooler.

A dedicated set of electrical components, to simulate the operating transients (power, voltage, energy consumption, aging phenomena …) of vehicle electric systems, in order to optimize design and control, compared to the constraints of energy efficiency, thermal and integration.


With Simcenter Amesim you can make detailed design of the Electromechanical components (solenoid type), size the Power Network, simulate electrical storage systems, evaluating energy exchanges and dissipations between components, and Fuel Cell systems.



Simcenter Amesim includes features and models (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) dedicated to the design of brakes, suspension, steering and shock absorbers, integrable even in a single systemic model to simulate and verify the global control strategies.

The user can analyze and optimize the performance and design of the booster, master cylinder and the hydraulic modulating valves of ESP, caliper and circuits hydraulic, or electro-mechanical braking technologies.

It is possible to model and study hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and electric power steering systems, as well as suspension components and circuits: passive, semi-active and active, dampers and roll stabilizers, air spring systems.



Dedicated models to evaluate the dynamic interactions between the vehicle and the steering systems, braking system, suspensions and related control, ensuring driving pleasure, comfort and optimal driving safety.

Simcenter Amesim contains in addition, several pre-configured, completely parametric, and predictive models of the behavior of car bodies, trailers, axle systems and tires for road vehicles, and specific soft-soil models for agricultural vehicles, in addition to a map import tool, with importing circuits and paths of real vehicles for analysis of driving cycles.



Thanks to its multi-domain approach, Simcenter Amesim allows you to merge different vehicle systems developed within a single model, with the purpose of doing cross-integration analysis, to evaluate how the systems influence each other.

For example, the user can screen eco-friendly designs of powertrain, considering drivability and comfort at the same time, in addition to aspects related to performance consumption, or evaluate the energy absorption of the various subsystems in the design of hybrid or electric vehicles, by considering different energy consumption strategies.
