Assess the global machine dynamic performance in terms of energy efficiency, vehicle fuel economy, emissions, drivability and safety or analyze and optimize vehicle subsystems:
mechanical and hydrostatic transmission, fluid power systems for auxiliary parts, engine, HVAC systems, braking, suspension and steering systems.
MECHANICAL and HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION
Simulate gears and loads, bearings and simulate stiffnesses, damping of the mechanical components inserted within the transmission line and assess efficiency, losses of specific segments or the whole transmission behavior during vehicle activity, from low to high frequencies (< 40 Hz).
Simcenter Amesim allows integration within the same model also of the hydraulic power system, detailing pumps, motors, valves, piping, to size this system in order to provide the requested power, select the best control strategy for integration with the mechanical part.
The user can perform linear analysis to verify conflicting modes within the system and avoid both fluid-borne vibrations and mechanical NVH (booming, gear clonk, rattle e whining) issues.
HEATING VENTILATION and AIR CONDITIONING
Simcenter Amesim provides a vast collection of modeling elements to study both HVAC components or full systems ( with heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, compressors, valves, piping, short tubes..) and understand their dynamic behavior.
Simcenter Amesim performs simulations of dynamic behavior, providing the user with insight on temperatures transients, pressure evolutions, gas mass fraction, humidity, phase change, in every
part of the HVAC virtual model he builds.
The user can benchmark performances of alternative designs, over a variety of working conditions and uses (including critical and failure situations) until the best responding
design is singled-out
Simcenter Amesim contains physical predicitve models to simulate and analyze engine combustion, and engine dynamic performance. Use the software to size air path for intake, injection system, exhaust , turbocharger, EGR and intercooler.
Predictively simulate and compare emission levels of several engine designs, benchmark efficiency and performances, also considering several engine control strategies. LMS Amesim includes optimization tools for components and processes involved in the combustion process.
Employ Amesim to predict pressure drops in the lubrication sysem, to assess the thermal exchange and select best sizing of the engine cooling
system, simulating temperature transients, pressure and air flow rate.
HYBRIDIZATION and ELECTRIFICATION
Amesim containes modeling elements to reppresent electrical power systems and motor/drive, batteries (keeping into account ageing phenomena) and other components.
The user can integrate them with the rest of the vehicle and simulate transient behavior of components or of the entire system.
Specific analysis and visualization tools in Amesim allow the user to compare various hybrid/electrical design architectures and technologies and assess their impact on fuel consumption and global vehicle efficiency
HYDRAULIC POWER SYSTEMS
Simcenter Amesim includes high quality, validated modeling elements to build a mock-up of any hydraulic system, or component, dedicated to providing
power to the vehicle or to its auxiliary systems (digger, crane, boom, plow).
Simulate the dynamic behavior of the hydraulic system/component (evolution of pressure, flow-rate, speed,..) together with the mechanical systems it’s powering, and study forces, speed and body movments during specific maneuvers or efforts.
Amesim also includes linear analysis tools that help study fluid borne vibrational phenomena, due to natural modes and hydro-mechanical coupling.
A collection of modelling tools and elements to assess the interactions between the vehicle and its steering, braking and suspension systems and their control to ensure desired performance and safety.
Simcenter Amesim can predict behavior of vehicle bodies, trailers, axle systems and specific agricultural vehicle soft-soil tyres to simulate the vehicles behavior on specific duty cyles and during typical maneuvers on various types of surfaces.
VEHICLE INTEGRATION, EFFICIENCY
Thanks to its multi-domain approach, Simcenter Amesim allows to connect and integrate all vehicle systems within a single model, and perform trasversal interactive analysis to assess how systems influence each other.
User can, for example: study eco-friendly design of powertrain, considering also drivalbility e comfort (suspension, braking systems), or fuel consumption (by integrating the engine, hvac and auxiliary systems) and other analysis linked to energy consumption, possibly studying hybridization of specific systems.
